1st Heart Failure Awareness Campaign KAMC-J
H.E. Chief Executive Officer of Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) and General Supervisor of Royal clinics, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, launched the 1st Heart Failure Awareness Campaign on the 7th of May 2014. This event was organized by King Faisal Cardiac Center in King Abdulaziz Medical City – Jeddah in collaboration with the Saudi Heart Failure Group (SHFG) in the Saudi Heart Association (SHA).
Chairman of Cardiac Sciences Center Dr. Mohammad Farqad Alamgir welcomed and acknowledged the participants for their immense efforts in helping to raise awareness about Heart Failure.
Later on, Dr. Ahmad Abuosa, Cardiac Consultant and Chairman of the Scientific Committee pointed out that effective Cardiomyopathy (heart muscle weakness) treatment requires the cooperation of specialized multidisciplinary teams in addition to the cardiologist.
He added that King Faisal Cardiac Center has a specialized clinic that provides treatment and follow-up sessions for heart failure patients; it is managed by specialized and highly trained nurses under the supervision of cardiac consultants.
Moreover, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy delivered a speech in which he highlighted King Faisal Cardiac Center many medical achievements in 2013 as well as performing the upcoming first Open Heart Surgery next week. In addition, he mentioned that raising awareness amongst community members is one of the important factors in minimizing heart failure risks.
Dr. Bandar Al Knawy praised the Saudi Heart Association speakers, representatives, and other participants. Moreover, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy was the proud recipient of a commemorative plaque from Dr. Mohammad Farqad Alamgir, Chairman of King Faisal Cardiac Centre, for his continuous support and honoring of the inauguration ceremony.
