King Abdulah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC) launched its 5th Annual Scientific Forum on Tuesday, September 9th under the auspice of H.E. Chief Executive Officer of Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) and General Supervisor of Royal clinics, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy.
Participating in the forum were 500 scientific researchers, presenting 110 research papers. Also, presented were the best papers for 2013-2014 from the Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Ahsa.
Many important topics were up for discussion including neuroscience and infectious diseases, as well as zoology, stem cell research, genetic diseases and multiple sclerosis, as well as oncological and blood diseases on addition to clinical research.
Director of KAIMRC in Jeddah and Chairman of the Scientific Committee, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Ghamdi pointed out that this scientific forum is designed to acquire the latest innovations and research to advance knowledge and performance so that better care can be provided for the patients and the community.
Dr. Ahmed Al Askar, Executive Director of King Abdullah International Medical Research Center, indicted that hosting the forum in Jeddah reflects the growth and importance of the event, noting that scientific research and advancement throughout history distinguished nations and strengthened their economy.
Dr. Bandar Al Knawy gave the opening speech in which he said that the Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs seeks, through its academic programs and research as well as its curative and preventive programs, to upgrade the services it provides to the highest levels of professional and specialized application in accordance with international standards for medical care.
It should be noted that King Abdullah International Medical Research Center is in an ongoing mission to develop and support scientific research and its distribution to comprehend health problems and find solutions through the application of exceptional research, utilizing modern computer technologies and molecular analysis laboratories.
