Anesthesia Awareness day
The Department of Anesthesia at King Abdulaziz Medical City, affiliated with the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs in the Western Region, launches the fifth awareness campaign for anesthesia, entitled “Anesthesia of cardiac patient for noncardiac surgery" on Sunday corresponding to October 16 - at ACC. The aim of this campaign is to increase public awareness on the importance of anesthesia in facilitating many surgeries and procedures. Particularly this year, an essential category, cardiac patients exposed to surgery and anesthesia. As they are educated on how to be prepared and evaluated preoperatively for noncardiac operations to reduce the incidence of complications.
Dr. Haifa Kayal - Consultant Anesthesiologist, Assistant Professor of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in Jeddah and Chair of the Organizing Committee indicated that the Organizing Committee was keen to hold the activities of this campaign coinciding with the World Anesthesia Day. The campaign took the title "Safe Anesthesia", its slogan is a message to the community confirming that the level of health service provided is codified and safe. This reflects the presence of competencies in the field of anesthesiology trained in a manner comparable to international standards.
Dr. Haifa added that the campaign came in cooperation with success partners this year, the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, represented by the Saudi Board of Anesthesiology, in addition to the participation of the Saudi Society of Anesthesiology and the Saudi Center for Patient Safety, and the participation of a number of students at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in Jeddah. The role played by King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah and its great interest in the field of health education, which contributes to raising the level of safety for patients.
