Safety Awareness Week - Central Region

Safety Awareness Week is a NGHA wide education and awareness-building campaign, spearheaded by the Safety Management Department, for improving safety at all levels of employees. King Abdulaziz Medical City - Riyadh and Primary Healthcare centers across the Central Region are encouraged to plan events to promote safety in collaboration with Regional Safety Management Departments. Educational activities are centered on educating employees and contractors on how to become involved, to build safe partnerships with their relevant healthcare communities.

The Goals & Objectives of the Safety Awareness Week are:

  • To demonstrate NGHA Safety commitment to their employees and hospital community at large.

  • To build & promote a culture of safety and encourage employees to become involved in workplace safety.

  • To establish relationships between NGHA healthcare safety professionals and NGHA communities with the goal of promoting shared ownership of safety among all parties in the healthcare workplace.

  • To share knowledge gained through innovation, research and practice specific to healthcare safety to achieve the outcome of an engaged and healthy workforce that is able to provide better patient care.

  • To showcase research or practice interventions resulting from an integrated and participative approach to safety problems in the workplace that are showing sustainable results.

Safety Management Department is dedicated to focusing on information, programs and solutions. In aggregating relevant, recent content on safety programs, developments, reports, resources, advocacy efforts and studies, our hope is that Safety Awareness Week activities will provide a platform to increase awareness of the critical issue of preventable illnesses and injuries and through raising awareness, we significantly raise the bar.
