Progress Report One Week after the Successful Separation of the Algerian Conjoined Twins Sara and Ikram
A week after the successful separation of the Algerian conjoined twins, Sara and Ikram, which was performed on Thursday, 17 March 2011, at the King Abdulaziz Medical City, National Guard Health Affairs - Riyadh, the Head of the Surgical and Multidisciplinary Team, Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, stated that the twins are doing extremely well and were removed from the artificial respirator less than 24 hours post-op.
The twins are feeding normally and are expected to leave the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit within the next few days and will transfer to Ward 7 where they will start their rehabilitation and physiotherapy program.
