ADHD Intensive Training Course For Professionals will start on Wednesday, November 30, 2011.The course is organized by the National Guard Health Affairs- Riyadh in collaboration with the Postgraduate Education & Academic Affairs of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences and the Mental Health Division, Department of Medicine of King Abdulaziz Medical City with the presence of a number of specialists and experts from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, in addition to the staff of the National Guard Health Affairs.
The Head of the Mental Health Division, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 1st Saudi ADHD Conference and a consultant Psychologist for children and adolescents, Dr. Omar Ibrahim Almodaifir said: " organizing this intensive course aims to develop the skills of educational and psychological cadres working with children and students in order to develop the services provided to ADHD children as part of the contribution of National Guard Health Affairs in this field.
This intensive course, which will extend to five days, is a part of the upcoming “ The 1st Saudi ADHD Conference” organized by the National Guard Health Affairs next week. A number of studies, research, lectures and workshops in both Arabic and English will be presented as well as a series of workshops dedicated for parents of ADHD children.
Last but not least,Dr. Omar Ibrahim Almodaifir stressed that ADHD affects about 5% of school students in general.
