NGHA’s Princess Noura Oncology Center is considered a global specialized medical center in treating cancerous tumors that meets the urgent needs of all cancer patients in the Western Region.
The advanced (PET/CT) medical imaging technology is currently operating in Princess Noura Oncology Center, which is the first step of its kind towards the detection and diagnosis of tumors. This imaging technique is one of the most important technologies in nuclear medicine, and through positron emission tomography, cells can be monitored biochemically by detecting their specific attributes.
It can also identify cancer cells in the very early stages, which contributes massively in the speed of cancer treatments. Moreover, doctors can accurately determine the location and stage of the tumor through metabolic data from the (PET) scan as well as through a detailed anatomical data from the (CT) scans.
Furthermore, Princess Noura Oncology Center has completed the installation of the first lab of its kind in the kingdom to measure the personal radiation dose of the workers, using a new technique based on the use of Optically Stimulated Luminescence OSL, approved and accredited by King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy.
It is worth mentioning that this new technology and devices are managed by a high efficient Saudi expert team.
