By royal decree, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz appointed Dr. Bandar Al Knawy as Chief Executive Officer of the National Guard Health Affairs.
In response to this honor, Dr. Al Knawy extended thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz.
"This great honor of which I have been bestowed is an incentive for me to give more for the sake of my country and its people, and to help realize their aspirations," he said in response to his appointment.
"I will also aim to aid in the development of our nation in all fields especially the medical field which is considered one of the valued sectors supported by this nation's administration." Dr. Al Knawy.
He also expressed his appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Badr bin Abdulaziz the Vice President of the National Guard and to His Royal Highness Lieutenant-General Prince Meteb bin Abdullah the Deputy Chief of the National Guard for Military Affairs for the trust they have given him and asserted that he will make every effort to serve the National Guard medical sector.
He added that NGHA had made great stride in the past few years with guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in the establishment of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences and the King Abdullah International Research Center.
He stressed that he will focus primarly on the success of the recent plans laid by His Royal Highness King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz for both medical and educational projects. He also will support greater patient care and to continue the promotion of the King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences.
It is noteworthy that Dr. El Knawy is one of the qualified skilled medical professionals who served National Guard Health Affairs in all sincerity and dedication. He holds a fellowship in Internal Medicine from the American and the Canadian Boards as well as the American fellowship in Gastroenterology. He is also a Fellow of the College Royal Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, a member of the Saudi Society for the Gastroenterology and a member of the American Society of digestive system, a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, and a member of the Canadian Society for the Gastroenterology.
