
Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, the CEO of National Guard Health Affairs and the President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, gave a speech in the inauguration of the Otolaryngology– Head & Neck Surgery International Convention ORL held currently at the Marriott Hotel in Riyadh.
Dr. Al Knawy shed lights on the recent breakthroughs in intricate surgeries and the new medical approaches in the field. He said that the National Guard Health Affairs (NGHA) and King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) host the best worldwide experts from America, Canada, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, and Germany to train the national medical cadres in a series of workshops and lectures.
He assures that the cadres will come up to the competitions of the world-class experts soon thanks to the hands-on training they receive and staunch support by the Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense, Aviation and Inspector General and HRH Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, HRH Prince Mitib bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Commander National Guard for Executive Affairs.
Concerning the recent healthcare developments, Dr. Al Knawy, said the NGHA increased the number of beds in its hospitals; developed the performance standards of its cadres; and provided stat-of-the-art technology in-house.
His Excellency showed that the NGHA initiated the Saudi ENT Fellowship Program for Pediatrics who are less than two years old– the first Pan-Arab specialty. “The program helps graduate highly-qualified cadres treating nasal, sinus and respiratory diseases,” he said.
