The American Heart Association (AHA) has released its first Arabic Program titled:Heartsaver® First Aid Program (HSFA). This AHA program is internationally recognized and has underwent unprecedented growth over the past few years in its endeavour to save lives.
Dr. Osama Kentab, AHA Regional Faculty & Trainer and one of the reviewers for the Arabic Book indicated that this Heartsaver First Aid program is based on the latest research and evidence for resuscitation science and education delivery. It continues to be regularly reviewed and updated by the Emergency Cardiovascular Care Committee. And with this we are always ensuring that the course participants are receiving the latest updated information.
Also, Ms. Zehra’ Al-Hilali, AHA Regional Faculty & Trainer, says regarding the new program, “There is a recognized need to bring these life-saving programs to our Arabic speaking people in the Middle East & North Africa, the Arabic (HSFA) program is geared towards the non healthcare community and includes first aid, CPR for adults, children and infants as well as the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)”. Ms. Al-Hilali has served as one of the reviewers for the Arabic book as well as played a voice role in the Arabic soundtrack.
The National Guard Health Affairs with the participation of King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences and the Postgraduate Center in Riyadh took the lead in introducing this program and its English program was first introduced in the Kingdom last summer and was received very well by different organizations and institutes. And now with the release of the Arabic program, the Heartsaver First Aid with CPR & AED Program (HSFA) will be introduced in both English and Arabic and the first course will be May 17th 2010.
Participants in the course will be presented with an internationally recognized (AHA) Card.
