
In cooperation with the Postgraduate and Academic Affairs department in PMBAH; Al Madinah primary healthcare center held a medical seminar on Saturday 28th of December 2019 regarding the latest advancements of Asthma treatment and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
The medical seminar included a variety of scientific lectures during which developments in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease were reviewed and discussed in addition to Pulmonary Function tests and analysis workshops with the presence of a group of specialized speakers who discussed during many relevant subjects.
The speakers reviewed the prevalence of Asthma and COPD in the world and particularly in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in addition to a review of the latest global advancements regarding methods of diagnosis, prevention and treatment of these diseases among children, adults and pregnant women.
The role of family medicine physician in providing treatment and healthcare for Asthma and COPD patients was also highlighted, in addition to the physician’s role in following-up on patients with such diseases and encouraging them to improve their lifestyle and assisting smokers to quit smoking due to its close association with asthma diseases.
