Under his patronage the Chief Executive Officer of the National Guard Health Affairs Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, the Health Promotion Services Department in collaboration with the Pulmonary Diseases Department will launch an awareness campaign about asthma (chest allergies) on 12\5\2009 in King Abdulaziz Medical City.
Dr. Hamdan Al-Jahdali, the Pulmonary Diseases Department director and the Director of Ambulatory Care Operations said that asthma (chest allergies) is a common disease in our society, especially in seasons where there is a lot of dust.
The campaign deals with asthma medications, how to use them, its impact on patients, factors affecting asthma and how to avoid them, plus the complications that might occur when patients disregard symptoms.
Dr. Hamdan added that conducting such campaigns helps in promoting public health awarenesss and prevention in order to avoid serious complications..
In addition, Dr.Hamdan added that the awareness campaign will include a number of schools in the NGHA residential compounds- Riyadh, NGHA health centers plus King Abdulaziz Medical City personnel. A medical team is participating in this campaign and is ready to answer any questions or inquiries about asthma and related issues. The campaign, which will last one month, will include many exhibits and lectures plus brochures and booklets.
