Shattered hopes and insecure future was the dominant theme among Gazan youth who opened their eyes to find barbaric Israeli occupation controlling their land, hopes and future.
Walking through the hospital at King Abdulaziz Medical City, stories of injured Gazans revealed the pain they faced since blockade imposed on the strip in July 2007 which reached its utmost during the Israeli three-week barbaric war.
Mahmoud Tayseer, an 18-year-old Gazan, was there to be an eye witness to the Palestinian misery.
"An Israeli F-16 jet bombarded my house injuring me, my grandmother, two of my uncles and two of my cousins," Tayseer said.
"My house was destroyed completely," he in tearful eyes.
As the Israeli jets ended its raid, Tayseer was taken to Beit Hanoun hospital where he received initial treatment.
Due to deteriorating conditions of the hospital, he was transferred to Kamal Oudwan hospital at Jabalia refugee camp northern Gaza strip for further treatment.
Doctors faced the harsh truth as Tayseer's right arm suffered from a fracture, tear in the arteries and rupture of the muscles and tendons which resulted in temporary paralysis of his arm.
"I went through a surgery in my arm without anesthetization as the doctors were trying to save my arm," Tayseer recalled in bitter voice.
Tayseer was transferred to King Abdulaziz Medical City at National Guard Health Affairs in Riyadh according to recommendations of medics who stood helpless because of lack of medical supplies.
"Rafah border was the only hope for me to reach from where I was transferred to Saudi Arabia to receive medical treatment," he added.
At King Abdulaziz Medical City, he underwent fixation surgery of the forearm bones and the damages in the muscles, tendons and arteries were treated.
Gladly his arm was saved and it needs 6 months of physical therapy to get back to normal.
"We would like the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and all the people whom have helped us through this ordeal." Mr. Khaled said.
Israel's air, naval and ground offensive on Gaza, which began on December 27, killed more than 1300 people, including 410 children, 108 women and 118 elders.
Medics further estimated more than 5400 were injured.
At least 200,000 Palestinians were forced to flee their homes during the three-week onslaught, which left the densely-populated enclave in ruins.
However, the Israeli war on Gaza did not mark the beginning of Tayseer's misery which started much earlier.
"It could be right that the Israeli war is halted, but the fact stands that the Israeli blockade remains the main factor behind Gazans suffering," Tayseer said.
"They are not only killing us, they murder our dreams of a better future."
