​King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC) is proud to announce the availability of Research Grants for NGHA, KSAU-HS, and KAIMRC staff.

Research Priorities for the year 2014:

1.Non-communicable common chronic diseases with regards to:

◦Incidence and prevalence studies

◦Interventional Studies

2.Health services research and improvement projects in the area of:

◦Patient safety

◦Access to Care

3.Biomedical Sciences, in the field of:

◦Stem cells and regenerative medicine,

◦Gene therapy,

◦Personalized therapeutics,

◦Nanomedicine,

◦Pharmacogenomics, 

◦New emerging applications of technology.   

4.Academic Research in the area of:

◦Social Sciences

◦Medical Education

5.IT in Healthcare in relation to improvement and outcome

6.Translational research

7.Applied research

All submitted research grant applications would be numbered and criticized based on originality, scientific merit and application.

Criteria for applications are as follows:

1.The Principal Investigator (PI) MUST be a National Guard Health Affairs (NGHA) employee, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) faculty staff or King Abdullah International Medical research Center (KAIMRC) staff, with a background that enables him/her to proceed with the proposed activity (for more information on the qualifications of the PI please refer to APP # 1419-005)

2.Sub-investigators from outside NGHA are welcome, with clear justification and role in the proposed research project.

3.The maximum requested fund should not exceed 2 million Saudi Riyals per project.

4.All research grant applications should comply with all KAIMRC and NGHA Audit and Finance APP.

5.Investigators are encouraged to use the local available resources to conduct their research projects, funds to do experimental work abroad will not be approved unless it's justified.

6.Any research application not fulfilling the above mentioned criteria will not be processed.

7.The deadline for submission of all research grant applications is the 30th of June 2014.

Small research grant application less than or equal to 100,000 Saudi Riyals are open all year round for a maximum of three concurrent applications per principal investigator.

The funds for the University student's research applications are open all year round with a maximum budget of 50 Thousand Saudi Riyals per project.

Researchers are also encouraged to utilize the availability of other national funding resources (such as KACST) to submit their grant applications.

All Research Proposals should be submitted through E-submission system which can be accessed within the NGHA Intranet network through this Link or this Link.
