Saudi Cancer Society.
According to Dr. Ahmad Arfaj, Regional Executive Director of National Guard Health Affairs - Eastern Region, the exhibition, targeting both genders, aimed to raise awareness of this type of cancer even though the percentage of breast cancer affecting men is very low (1%).
The two-days exhibition covered several topics including the method of breast self-exam illustrated by the use of explanatory models. Furthermore, Dr. Ahmad Arfaj added that the mammogram vehicle had a significant impact on the success of this event, through early detection.
Moreover, the exhibition focused on the factors that reduce the chances of developing breast cancer, such as nutrition and its effective role in women's health, maintaining a healthy weight through exercise in addition to emphasizing the importance of breastfeeding and refrain from smoking and alcohol.
It’s worth noting that the number of women who conducted the breast self-exam reached up to 150 women over two days.
