H.E. Chief Executive Officer of Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy launched on Saturday, 24th of October 2015, the Breast Cancer International Conference activities organized by Princess Noorah Oncology Center (PNOC) at King Abdulaziz Medical City – MNG-HA that attracted nearly 1,500 attendees with the participation of a group of renowned specialists from the USA, Canada, UK and Italy.
The conference was commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qura’an, after that, Breast Cancer Consultant and Head of the Scientific Committee Dr. Meteb AlFoheidi delivered a speech in which he pointed out that we all participate in the planning, preparation and implementation of awareness among women about breast cancer, he also added that breast cancer is the most common cancer type amongst women and has become a global issue that cannot be ignored in communities, and awareness is the first step towards surviving this disease.
In addition, Dr. Wasil Jastaniah, Consultant and Chairman of Princess Noorah Oncology Center (PNOC) said that this event is organized in line with the Beast Cancer Awareness Month, and such events will shed light on this diseases, its symptoms ad early detection. Dr. Jastaniah also pointed out that this Breast Cancer International Conference is one of the largest conferences in the Middle East, especially in the field of Breast Cancer where local and international experts and specialists will discuss a number of scientific topics and research papers on the latest developments on breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Moreover, Dr. Mansour Al Qurashi, Associate Dean of Postgraduate Education and Academic Affairs, KSAU-HS, pointed out that one of the most important objectives of this conference is to provide the participants with the latest technology in the treatment of breast tumors in order to provide quality medical care, and due to the rapid advancements in science, MNG-HA is always keen on keeping up with the latest updates in order to raise the knowledge level s of all health practitioners from doctors, nurses , technicians as well as providing them with the latest findings of related scientific research.
After that, H.E. Chief Executive Officer of Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy delivered a speech in which he pointed out that the Kingdome of Saudi Arabia ad until this day has given the state the its citizen the outmost importance in all areas of development, of which is the healthcare. He also said that our prominent hospitals are now among the elite health centers in the world where highly advanced surgical procedures are being performed and complicated cases are being treated. In addition, research centers were established to adopt scientific research, involving researchers from all over the world.
Last but not least, Dr. Al Knawy honored the scientific committee, the organizing committee and Princess Noorah Oncology Center, then he launched the medical exhibition.
It is worth mentioning that the conference was accredited with 30 CME Hours by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS).
