King Abdulaziz Medical City– Riyadh in collaboration with the organizing committee of the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium is conducting for the fourth year in a row a medical symposium discussing the latest developments in breast cancer. This symposium will be held in the Four Seasons Hotel –Riyadh on the 6th and 7th of January 2010 and participating in it will be a number of local and international doctors.
The head of the scientific committee and the head of the Oncology Department at NGHA Dr. Um Al Khair Abu Al Khair stated that the symposium will cover various topics such as the latest finds from the American Association for Cancer Research as well as that from cancer treatment and research centers in San Antonio Texas – USA achieved in 9-13 December.

Moreover, the symposium will shed light on the latest developments of chemical, immunological, hormonal, radiological and clinical cancer treatments to help facilitate the exchange of new information in improving patient care, seeking in that to manufacture a unique treatment plan for each individual.
The symposium will focus on methods of cancer prevention, bone protection during hormonal therapy as well as the best possible ways of using the nanotechnology in treating cancer. Dr. Um Al Khair stated that the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties has accredited this symposium with 14 CME hours and that seventeen scientific papers will be presented from the Middle East and the best three papers will be awarded during the symposium.
Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women as such there are lots of new studies, research, developments and medications are now being continuously updated during regular symposiums discussing breast cancer. One of the most important symposiums is the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium in San Antonio which is being held for more than 32 years in the United States. Due to the importance of this symposium an agreement was researched between the National Guard Health Affairs and the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium organizing committee to hold the symposium in the NGHA for 2-3 weeks after being held in San Antonio with the same speakers and participants.
