National Guard Health Affairs in Riyadh is organizing the 7th Middle East Best of CTRC-AACR San Antonio Breast Cancer Conference in cooperation with the Organizing Committee of the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium on the 15th and 16th January 2013 at the Four Seasons Hotel - Riyadh with the participation of a group of international speakers who specialize in oncology in addition to other local and international specialists in this field.
Dr. Omalkhair Abualkhair, Chairperson of the Scientific and Organizing Committee, Head of Oncology Department -Adults at King Abdulaziz Medical City – Riyadh confirmed that the conference will be held under the auspices of the HE Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, the Chief Executive Officer, National Guard Health Affairs and will highlight the most important aspects covered by the American Association for Cancer Research and Cancer Therapy & Research Center in Texas at 35th National Conference on Breast Cancer (NCBC), which was held in San Antonio, Texas, United States of America.
Dr. Omalkhair explained that the conference will address the full range of research on the final results of hormonal and immune treatments studies and how responsive they are, in addition to updates in chemical and radiation treatments in order to improve the health of cancer patients. We Will also highlight local treatments, as well as presenting and discussing scientific research papers from the Middle East and for the first time we will shed light on an important resource to support scientific research which is the (Ethnic Research Committee), which aims to support research on ethnic diversity in the nature of diseases or its causes or its responses to treatment.
Dr. Omalkhair concluded that the conference will be discussing an important issue, bone protection during hormonal therapy, in addition to breast cancer in its early and advanced stages, the conference will also display some disease cases, their current status and the treatments with the audience.
It is worth mentioning that this conference will be accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) with 22 CME hours, as well as by the The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) with 13 CME hours according to the American Academy for Medical Education (ACCME) in the United States.
