The Breastfeeding Awareness Week was held in the National Guard Health Affairs hospital from 27-30 October 2013 in different areas around the hospital.
The awareness week is held once a year usually in August; however, due to falling on the month of Ramadan it was postponed to better educate visitors on the importance of breastfeeding for both mother and child.
The goal of this activity is to promote breastfeeding and provide valuable information and education to the community and staff. The participating staff distributed educational material, talked to visitors and answered related questions. They also held competitions with prizes to promote awareness.
