The National Guard Health Affairs celebrates the World Breastfeeding Week to encourage, protect, promote and support breastfeeding and improve the health of babies around the world.
On this occasion, the Pediatric Department’s Neonatology Section in collaboration with the Health Promotion Services in King Abdulaziz Medical City - Jeddah promotes the World Breastfeeding Week from Saturday 1st – 5th of October.
Similarly, the Department of Pediatrics in collaboration with the Postgraduate Training – Riyadh announces the conduction of Breastfeeding Promotion Week will be held October 15 – 18, 2011.
This awareness event will cover many topics including the achievements of the breast feeding programs in Saudi Arabia, the use of media for breastfeeding education, breastfeeding when on medication and recent studies on breast milk and the benefits of breastfeeding. It will also discuss the Baby friendly Hospital initiative and answer commonly asked questions by first-time mothers.
