Nursing Education at King Abdul Aziz Hospital – Al Ahsa, Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs in collaboration with Saudi Heart Association organized the activities of Word Heart Day through holding an exhibition that included several awareness platforms.
Dr. Ahmad Al Arfaj, the Regional Executive Director of the Ministry of National Guard -Health Affairs in the Eastern Region pointed out that : “This event complements a series of activities targeting health in general and heart diseases in particular, through such activities, we try to raise the awareness level and we succeeded in the past years”.
Dr. Al Arfaj also pointed out: “ The exhibition included several platforms aimed to educate the patients and the staff about the importance of diagnosis and prevention of heart disease and asserted the necessity of exercises”. He added: “ These activities asserted on controlling the factors that cause heart disease such as diabetes, hypertension and cholesterol”.
Saudi Heart Association representative, adult heart disease consultant Dr. Anwar Jelani said: “Deferent departments and sections have participated in this activity, one of which is department of Pharmacy, which talked about the drugs for heart, blood pressure, diabetes and triglycerides, and its relationship with heart disease”.
He pointed out: “The Nutrition Department talks about the importance of food, The Department of Nursing took the examination and measurement of body mass and the rate of obesity for visitors, Nursing students participated in an awareness platform, in addition to participation of Department of Nursing represented in emergency”. He also added: “ The visitors learned the best way of CPR . The activity achieved success”.
