Prince Mohammed Bin Abdul Aziz Hospital - AlMadinah celebrated the World Diabetes Day 2016 last week at Al-Rashid Mega Mall, where Health Education Department in collaboration with the Pharmacy Department, Laboratory, Dental, Nutrition, Intensive Care, Property Maintenance has established under the supervision of the Department of Public Relations and Media Affairs an awareness event, through which a series of awareness activities were held aimed spreading awareness among the community about diabetes I and II, early diagnosis as well as the required lab tests. In addition to spreading awareness in regards to the symptoms and complications of diabetes, different treatment methods and the impact of oral health and hygiene.
In this awareness campaign, 44 specialists led by the Health Education Department conducted a quick study of the patient history for the visitors, gather the diagnostic data such as age, weight and height of the visitor, and then balance the data with the sugar levels in their blood. Then, each visitor will receive a personalized education program that he or she must follow in order to safeguard him or her from this disease, or reduce its complications. The organizers have succeeded in attracting and educating more than 200 visitors who appreciated Prince Mohammed Bin Abdul Aziz Hospital - AlMadinah awareness efforts.
