The
Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at
King Abdulaziz Hospital - Al Ahsa celebrated the events of the World Laboratory Day for the third consecutive year.
This eventful day included a variety of programs and activities aimed to define services provided by the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine.
Dr. Ahmad Al Arfaj, the Regional Executive Director of the Ministry of National Guard -Health Affairs in the Eastern Region pointed out that this celebratory occasion is to honor the department’s global achievements such as being accredited by both the College of American Pathology (CAP) and the Joint Commission International (JCI). It also achieved error-free diagnostics and high precision laboratory tests.
The events included eight scientific lectures that addressed the definition of laboratory, its science and its history. The Operations Administrator of Laboratory Services in King Abdulaziz hospital, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Shahrani said: “Our main goal is to educate health workers about the main role of laboratories and its importance.”.
Furthermore, an awareness exhibition was held alongside the lectures which included collecting blood samples from visitors to test their sugar levels as well as educating them of on the laboratory’s function such as dealing with microscopic slides.
It should be noted that the participation was not limited to NGHA employees, but other professionals from hospitals in the area joined the event.
