The National Family Safety Program is conducting the 5th Course on Child Abuse for Medical Doctors next month from 14 November 2009 to 17 November 2009 in Saleh bin Saleh social center in Onaizah – Qassim.
This course will be held in collaboration with the Salhia Charity Organization – Onaizah, the International Society for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) and Arab Professionals Network for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (APNPCAN).
This course is addressed to a lot of those specialists who deal with cases of child abuse or neglect and train them to competently deal with such cases like doctors, nurses, psychologists and social workers, as well as educators and security officers, judges, investigators, prosecutors and lawyers. The course aims to provide them with the knowledge, basic concepts, values and skills that are essential to deal with these cases and with the shelters provided for abused children. The program also seeks to spread awareness among the community regarding the importance of such issues.
It is noteworthy that this course has been adopted by the Ministry of Civil Service as a key course which will be held periodically in different regions of the Kingdom. The course will be in Arabic and will be accredited with 30 CME hours by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
