Health Education Department in Imam Abdulrahman Al Faisal Hospital – Dammam - Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs launched the “Clean Hands are Key to Better Health” campaign which was held at the Primary Health Care Center at King Fahd Residential City. The Regional Executive Director of the Ministry of National Guard -Health Affairs in the Eastern Region, Dr. Ahmad Al Arfaj explained that: “this event complements a series of awareness activities that aim to raise the level of health awareness among the community, as a part of the MNG-HA’s mission”.
Dr. Al Arfaj added: "These events carried an important message through its theme, that highlighted clean hands are key to a better, and certainly the opposite will have a negative impact”. The campaign activities, in general, targeted school students, boys and girls, through an awareness exhibition and a number of lectures over the span of two days, where participants were trained on how to properly wash and clean your hands, to prevent the transmission of infectious germs and viruses that could cause several diseases, such as the MERS-CoV, colds and other infectious diseases that transmits through touching the eyes, nose or mouth.
Additionally, the participants underwent a hand washing test through a device which reveals the spots that were not sterilized properly, which then followed by a hands-on training and how to wash and disinfect your hands through the seven key steps, which when applied, it will positively impact your health.
