The Health Sciences Library recently announced that the Clinical Evidence Database has been upgraded to Best Practice. In addition to its traditional/printed information resources (books and journals), the Health Sciences Library provides NGHA/KSAU-HS staff with access to a wealth of medical and health sciences literature in an electronic form. This electronic literature comes in databases accessible to staff and students over the Internet.
Best Practice contains the internationally renowned Clinical Evidence - incorporating the evidence from relevant systematic reviews into Best Practice articles.
Best Practice is a completely new concept for information delivered around at the point of care. In a single source, it is a combination of the latest research evidence, guidelines and expert opinion. Best Practice serves as support to practitioners giving them a second opinion in an instant on diagnosis, intervention, and patient management decisions.
Not only practitioners can avail of Best Practice but also researchers and medical students. Researchers can check on key clinical facts and identify evidence gaps to inform ongoing research while medical students can learn how to interpret and apply evidence with in a consultation context.
Finding information in Best Practice can be done by browsing in a variety of ways, such as "browse by conditions" or "browse by content type", which can be accessed at the following link: http://www.ac-knowledge.net/ngha/
