The Dean of College of Pharmacy in KSAU-HS, Dr. Abdulkareem Al Bekairy Gave brief presentation on Sunday to Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, the CEO of National Guard Health Affairs and the President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for the Health Sciences about Clinical Pharmacology Section in MNG-HA, as he focused on the taken procedures for solving the shortage of clinical pharmacists issue in MNG-HA hospitals.

In addition, Dr. Al Bekairy mentioned that in 2010 there were only 13 clinical pharmacists within very limited majors, thus the Pharmaceutical Care Services put long and short term strategies to overcome this obstacle. One of these procedures was signing agreement between MNG-HA and ACCP. By December 2010, MNG-HA sent a number of pharmacists to get PHD in pharmacy with completion of American Fellowship in minute majors in North America’s distinct colleges of pharmacy.

Moreover, after passing 6 years, the outcome of this cooperation and other agreements is that the MNG-HA has been supporting 34 exchange students in Central and Western regions, 7 of them returned back and working now in clinical pharmacology services in King Abdulaziz Medical City.  Also, the number of clinical pharmacists in MNG-HA medical cities reached now 37 with various majorities.

Last but not least, by 2020, it is expected that the number will reach 60 pharmacist in MNG-HA hospitals.
