
Executive Director of Medical Services - National Guard Health Affairs - the Western Region Dr. Mansoor Ahmed Jundi has launched the Second International Clinical Research conference on Sunday 31st of March 2013, under the title "Clinical Research: From Theory to Practice" at the Intercontinental Hotel – Jeddah in the presence of many international experts from Harvard, Boston and the United States University as well as local research specialists from various health sectors.
The ceremony began with a reciting from the holy Qura’an followed by a speech given by the President of Organizing Committee, the Head of the Training Program in rheumatic diseases, and the Head of the Research in the Department of Medicine, Dr. Zyad Al Zahrani where he explained that the objective of the conference lays in highlighting the importance of clinical research through series of discussions, scientific sessions and workshops to cover the main topics and obstacles which face applied clinical practices research, as well as critical analysis of research literature, and defining and developing research protocol, and the principles of high quality research work.

After that, The Conference’s events supervisor, a consultant and the Head of the Nephrology Division, Dr. Sulaiman Karsou gave a speech where he highlighted the National Guard Health Affairs interest in the importance of clinical research that is based on scientific foundations, as it is a mean in the development of science and experiences and knowledge exchange.
Dr. Abdullah Al Maliki, Chairman of the Scientific Committee and a Consultant in Nephrology and Renal Transplantation, added that members of Scientific Committee worked hard with professors from Harvard University to develop a program to achieve the main objectives of the conference and obtain the maximum possible benefit.
Finally, Executive Director of Medical Services - National Guard Health Affairs - the Western Region Dr. Mansoor Ahmed Jundi explained and praised the National Guard Health Affairs’ efforts and contribution in promoting and developing health services in the Kingdom. In conclusion, Dr. Mansoor AlJundi honored the conference’s speakers and participants.
