The Postgraduate Training Center in collaboration with the Pathology and Lab Medicine Department conducted the "Cytopathology: 2nd KAMC Annual Review Course," on the 11-12 January, 2010 in Dr. Sameer bin Huraib Auditorium, KAMC, NGHA, Riyadh.
The lectures were presented by international speakers from John Hopkins University and Pittsburgh University in the United States of America as well as local speakers from within the Kingdom. The Division head of Cytology at KAMC-R, Dr. Hanaa Ba Mefleh, stated that the participants were more than 100 professionals and practitioners from all health sectors in Saudi Arabia and the GCC.
The course is of paramount significance in the field of training doctors and technicians to increase the diagnostic capabilities in this area in addition to following any new developments or research within Cytopathology. The course was held before the upcoming test of the International Academy of Pathology for physicians and technicians that will take place in the NGHA, which is considered as the only medical schools specialized in Cytology in the Middle East.
