
On Monday, the 18th of May 2009 His Royal Highness Lieutenant - General Prince Meteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Assistant Chief of the National Guard for Military Affairs launched a number of development projects in King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah.
Upon his arrival, he was received at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah by His Highness Prince Dr. Khalid bin Faisal bin Turki, the Undersecretary of the National Guard in the Western Sector, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Mansour bin Jalawi, the Undersecretary of the National Guard for Technical Affairs and Dr. Issam Al-Zmeeti the Acting Executive Director of the Medical Services in the National Guard Health Affairs in the Western Sector.
During his visit, many development projects were launched such as medical equipment enhancements for the Radiotherapy Unit in Princess Norah Oncology Centre. The new projects include expansion of the Chemotherapy Unit and increasing the capacity of the Intensive Care Unit.
Furthermore, there were numerous additions in the Lithotripsy and Burns Unit which will be a separate unit and equipped with highly advanced specifications that can accommodate various cases of burns. His Royal Highness also launched the expansion (phase I) of the Emergency Department for Intermediate Care and Trauma, the development and expansion of operating rooms and the ER Center in the King Abdulaziz Medical City.
Subsequently, HRH Prince Meteb bin Abdullah met NGHA employees and beneficiaries of health services and had a dialogue discussing ways to provide better health services. At the end of his visit, Prince Meteb launched the e-services program which will be available for patients in KAMC, Jeddah to facilitate patients’ access to the improved health services and treatment.
