Imam Abdulrahman Al Faisal Hospital in Dammam held an awareness exhibition on the occasion of Diabetes International Day which lasted for two days, with the participation of several departments including Department of Diabetes Health Education, Nutrition Department and Primary Health Care represented by Nursing and Family Medicine.
In addition, the Regional Executive Director of the Ministry of National Guard-Health Affairs (MNG-HA) in the Eastern Region, Dr. Ahmad Al Arfaj pointed out that “Such activities are held to raise awareness of this disease, which has spread dramatically in recent times” adding “ This event aims to educate health practitioners on the importance and complications of diabetes with an explanation of the appropriate methods for patients in how to use modern Insulin injections”.
Moreover, Deputy Regional Executive Director of Operations in Imam Abdulrahman Al Faisal Hospital in Dammam said that “ Such activities are part of a series of programs that are based on educating the community members about diverse diseases, spreading the culture of healthy life styles, methods of diseases resistance, and presenting the latest treatment methods".
On the other hand, Deputy Regional Executive Director of Health Affairs in Imam Abdulrahman Al Faisal Hospital, Dr. Ahmad Alshuaibi confirmed that health affairs are keen to hold the diabetes exhibition annually to educate community members about the latest diabetes treatment plans and prevention methods.
Last but not least, the exhibition’s slogan was "My Life and Diabetes” and there was a diabetes screening corner where more than 6 new cases were discovered and referred to the diabetes clinic to start treatment.
