Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz Hospital of National Guard in Madinah has celebrated 2015 World Diabetes Day through many activities. In the occasion, the Nursing Education Department has conducted a number of educational and awareness events in and out the hospital. These events were intended to promote knowledge of the disease among all ages in the community of Madinah. The Department through participating in the exhibition of the World Diabetes Day, held in the Hospital of Maternity and Children in Madinah, has conducted training sessions and promotional lectures about the disease prevention and how the patients can adapt with diabetes, with the participation of more than 32 of hospital staff.
Furthermore, the celebration extended to Al Rashid Mall, where the Nursing Education Department held a large awareness event, as well as offering instant free medical care to the visitors of the mall. The provided care included blood sugar test, blood pressure check and hemoglobin measure, in addition to direct medical consultation conducted by a completed specialized medical team. It is worth mentioning that, a great number of people, adults and young, visited the hospital pavilion, and reacted with sessions of fun and gift distribution
