Under the auspices of HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Adviser to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region, the launching of the Dialysis Center in Makkah Al-Mukarramah will be held on the 17th of November 2015 in Laylati Hall in Jeddah. The Dialysis Center is a part of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud International Foundation for Charity and Humanitarian Works Dialysis Care Project. Previous dialysis centers were launched in Riyadh and Jeddah a part of phase I from the Dialysis Care Project, followed by the launching of several centers in a number of cities around the Kingdom. Such humanitarian projects were established to meet the patients’ needs and to ensure that the level of quality provided to patients with renal failure are with the highest medical and supervisory experts who are well-experienced in dialysis treatments and therapy.

Moreover, HRH Prince Khalid bin Abduallah bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud International Foundation for Charity and Humanitarian Works, said that the late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz was keen to adopt such project considering what renal failure patients go through, and based on his directives, this vital and important project was established to facilitate, provide and distribute dialysis machines across the Kingdom’s regions.

Thereafter, HRH Prince Khalid bin Abduallah extended his appreciation to both HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal for sponsoring the launch of the center as well as to the Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs for providing the operational and supervisory support of this national charity project.

It is worth mentioning that the importance of launching the dialysis center in Makkah Al-Mukarramah and close to the Holy Mosque will serve thousands of citizens, residents and visitors with kidney failure while easily and conveniently performing their rituals without having to go to major cities near Makkah to get this specialized healthcare service.

Additionally, the Dialysis Center is located on Mecca Jeddah highway while occupying an estimated 7722 m2 over 5 levels that include dialysis services units. The center also includes (100) dialysis machines, a pharmacy, a laboratory, a screening clinic and 4 wards.  Besides, the center has been equipped with the latest hemodialysis machines and utilizing German “Fresenius” reverse osmosis water treatment systems. The center also allocated  housing facilities for the nursing and technical staff, in addition to administrative and support services.

Last but not least, the center follows a standardized approach in  accepting new patients through registration and then studying the condition of the beneficiaries through patient assessment,  medical reports review,  laboratory tests and clinical examination which ensures maximum benefit from the center's services.
