King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in the National Guard is applying standards derived from the Canadian Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in training doctors a step considered the 1st of its kind in Saudi Arabia.
These standards were discussed in a workshop held in the Postgraduate Training Center in King Abdulaziz Medical City – Riyadh. Dr. Bandar Al Knawy the CEO of National Guard Health Affairs and the President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences launched the first workshop and stressed that the goal of this approach is to adopt global scientific methods that are accurate and serve medical training and education which would positively reflect on quality of services.
This workshop is considered the first of a series of workshops and courses in assessing Postgraduate Medical Education programs.
