Based on the directive of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Egyptian Conjoined Twins Mena and Mai arrived to Riyadh on Saturday, 7 January 2016 form Egypt for medical examinations to determine the possibility of their separation at King Abdulaziz Medical City in the Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs – Riyadh.
Head of the Surgical and Multidisciplinary Team, H.E. Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah and the Consul General of Egypt in Riyadh H.E. Hany Salah received the twins King Abdullah Specialist Children's Hospital (KASCH) in King Abdulaziz Medical City – Riyadh. The surgical and multidisciplinary team preformed the clinical examinations immediately and based on the healthy results, they decide to carry out more detailed medical tests throughout the next days. The initial examination shows that the Egyptian twins Mena and Mai are conjoined at the head from the back side and some of the membranes and veins surrounding the brain.

Moreover, the Consul General of Egypt in Riyadh H.E. Hany Salah extended his appreciation towards HM King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his kindness and generosity, asserting that this is not surprising from KSA.
