Dr. Saad Al Mohrij, Chief Medical Officer of the National Guard Health Affairs, launched the New Dental Era, the 3rd National Guard and Saudi Endodontic Society International Conference on 16 October 2011 at the Riyadh Marriott Hotel.
The Saudi Endodontic Society was founded in 2010 to support scientific research in collaboration with specialized researchers in addition to conducting workshops and conferences to attract experts in this specific major.
It is worth noting that in 2010 the number of visitors to the Dental Services in King Abdulaziz Medical city reached approximately 100 000 patients, which is a noticeable increase of 20% compared with the previous year. The number of visits to primary health care centers in the same year had reached nearly 126,000, which increased almost 22% than the last.
Since 2007, the National Guard Health Affairs started an examination for all NGHA primary level students in 33 schools (boys and girls), the number of benefiting students reached 4,000 carried out through 1900 visits since the beginning of this program.
Chief of Dental Services in NGHA, CR, Dr. Ali Al Eheideb noted that the conference will discuss several scientific papers through 33 scientific lecture, 17 of which are multi-specialty such as dental surgery, implants, cosmetic and restorative, pediatric dentistry, as well as using acupuncture in dentistry. This is not including various lectures about medical education and ethics of the profession.
Also they will celebrate the Honorary Fellowship Degree from the International College of Dentists which will be awarded to five dentists from Arabian Gulf in recognition of their excellence and contributions to the scientific development of the dental profession. Attending this are the President and members of the Executive Board of the International College of Dentists in the Middle East.
At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Al Mohrij honored the speakers and launched the medical exhibition, which included the latest technology in treating and diagnosing dental diseases.
