Under the auspices of His Royal Highness, Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Minister of National Guard, the Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs will celebrate the National Family Safety Program's 10th anniversary under the slogan “Your Family, Your Safety” after the Royal approval was issued to hold this vital event. Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the Family Safety Day, H.E. Chief Executive Officer of Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, extended his appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for honoring this initiative. Dr. Bandar also pointed out that the aim of this event is to highlight our country’s efforts towards family rights and the prevention of domestic violence while supporting family ties and promoting national values, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
Dr. Bandar Al Knawy stated that this event holds one united mission and that is to promote the family’s role in the renunciation of violence and terrorism, and spread awareness amongst young adults and parents alike. The main objectives focuses on highlighting the family’s positive values and its role in protecting young adults from violence and terrorism acts. The event will also shed light on the correlation between domestic and school violence and neglect with future behavior, while promoting the family’s role in instilling high levels of awareness and standards in order to protect our community from such violent acts. Moreover, Dr. Al Knawy highlighted the partnership importance with the various ministries and government institutions in the face of violence and terrorism.
In addition, Dr. AlKnawy pointed out that this national event will hold a seminar organized by the National Family Safety Program and in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Presidency for Youth Welfare, and the Human Rights Commission, entitled “Family role in the renunciation of violence and terrorism” which will take place on Wednesday morning, the 18th of November 2015, and consists of two lectures: “ Domestic violence and terrorism” presented by the Director of Mohammed Bin Naif Counseling and Care Center, Major General Dr. Nasser Al-Mutairi and “Families: nurturing the rising generation” presented by Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Fozan, a member of the Human Rights Council, Jurisprudence Professor at Judiciary Higher Institution.
Lastly, Dr. AlKnawy extended his appreciation towards everyone participating in this vital event, hoping that all these efforts will pay off in the protection and stability of our country, and praying that we shall all live in harmony and solidarity.
