Launched before winter and targets staff, health practitioners, visitors and patients
The Department of Infection Prevention and Control in King Abdulaziz Hospital – Al Ahsa have launched the Flu Shot vaccine campaign 2018 / 2019 that will last for winter season. Dr. Ahmad Al Arfaj, the Regional Executive Director of the Ministry of National Guard -Health Affairs in the Eastern Region pointed out that : “This annual campaign targets all health providers and patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, asthma, heart disease, kidneys, lungs and other diseases”.
Dr. Al Arfaj also said: “This campaign spreads awareness about the importance of preventing diseases especially the flu during winter, and the Department of Infection Prevention and Control has allocated a vaccination corner at the entrance of the hospital as well as a mobile truck reaching out to all departments and sections to facilitate the vaccination process”.
The campaign targeted more than 8 thousands people including patients, medical staff, and the nursing staff, in addition to a huge number of visitors and out-patients who were briefed before taking the vaccine about the importance of taking the vaccine, and the need to spread the culture of disease prevention.
