The Foot and Ankle Awareness Week Campaign will kicks off next Sunday January 15th, 2017 organized by the Orthopedic Surgery Department (Foot And Ankle Surgery Unit) in collaboration with the family medicine at King Abdulaziz Medical City, the Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs in Riyadh. The campaign will last for 5 days and will showcase several awareness events, which aim to raise awareness levels of the dangers of foot problems, their effects and how to prevent them.
Campaign chairman and Orthopedics Surgery Consultant, Dr. Nader Al KenaniHe pointed out that the awareness campaign seeks to achieve a number of goals, most notably raising the staff awareness on how to control foot and ankle problems, the related misconceptions, in addition to the alarming dangers related to foot problems, their effects and, the preventive measures. The campaign also aims to identify the causes of foot and ankle problems, the types as well as the right and wrong means of treatment. Moreover, the campaign will address the importance of proper nutrition, exercise and the significance of adopting a healthy life style. Last but not least, a number of specialists will display several recommended shoe types along with the footprint device.
