Dr. Saad Al Mohrij, Chief Medical Officer of the Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs launched the activities of the Foot and Ankle Awareness Week Campaign which is organized by the Orthopedic Surgery Department (Foot And Ankle Surgery Unit) in collaboration with the Family Medicine at King Abdulaziz Medical City, MNG-HA in Riyadh. The campaign will last 5 days and will showcase several awareness events in many locations in MNG-HA Riyadh.
In addition, Dr. Al Mohrij took a tour around the awareness exhibition ; in which he was briefed about the campaign by the participating departments; Physiotherapy, Social Services, Pharmacy, Health Education, Nutrition, Orthopedics and Foot and Ankle Surgery Unit.
Moreover, the campaign will showcase several awareness events, which aim to raise awareness levels of the dangers of foot problems, their effects and how to prevent them. Also, a number of specialists will display several recommended shoe types along with the footprint device.
Also, Campaign Chairman and Orthopedics Surgery Consultant in King Abdulaziz Medical City-MNG-HA, Riyadh, Dr. Nader Al Kenani pointed out that the awareness campaign seeks to achieve a number of goals, most notably raising the staff awareness on how to control foot and ankle problems, the related misconceptions, in addition to the alarming dangers related to foot problems, their effects and the preventive measures. The campaign aims to identify the causes of foot and ankle problems, the types as well as the right and wrong means of treatment. Last but not least, the campaign will address the importance of proper nutrition, exercise and the significance of adopting a healthy life style.
