King Abdulaziz Medical City and King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, Jeddah, represented by the Deanship of Postgraduate Education , Postgraduate Medical Education, WR organized the Volunteering Program “GIVERS” at Prince Noura Oncology Center.
The ”GIVERS” project is in accordance with:
- The 2030 vision to rally one million volunteers per year compared to 11,000 now.
- The tradition and common practice of the Ministry of National Guard-Health Affairs to support the vision of the Kingdom by shaping the culture and establishing core values, services, and other initiatives that impact lives within and outside the organization.
- The recent agreement between the Ministry of Health and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties to activate the role of health volunteers by our healthcare practitioners.
Postgraduate Medical Education, WR Mission:
To provide postgraduate medical training programs that produce qualified medical professionals in various fields of medicine to contribute to the national health care system. Also, to inspire trainees to volunteer and provide services that improve the overall quality of patients care and experience (Health Advocate Role).
Vision:
To be one of the leading volunteering centers in the region in the field of healthcare by empowering our MNG-HA trainees to make a positive impact on patients and relatives lives and experience.
Objectives:
- Incorporate volunteering in our institute’s culture.
- Inspire MNG-HA trainees ;residents, interns and medical students as well staff members to volunteer.
- Facilitate volunteering opportunities.
- Provide our patients and their caregivers the following throughout their hospital journey:

In addition, Postgraduate Medical Education/Western Region is holding an educational and entertaining event under “The Hero Child” theme for our pediatric oncology patients on 27 February 2019. This project will be one of a variety of other projects that will be organized by PGME-WR Volunteering Office.
This special event will be held in the presence of H.E. Chief Executive Officer of Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy.
