As part of the support to the national strategy to enhance research in innovation and technology and to utilize the available national resources such as the National Science, Technology and Innovation Plan (NSTIP) at KACST, NGHA is pleased to announce the establishment of Science and Technology Unit (STU) at King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC).
The unit is established under the Research Office and shall serve as a single point of contact for NGHA, KAIMRC and KSAU-HS to the general secretariat of NSTIP for research proposals and operational projects submitted for NSTIP grants.
The unit shall be directly in charge of carrying out the following main administrative, financial and technical responsibilities:
Receive project proposals from principal investigators through the e-submission of NSTIP e-portal intended for submission through the NSTIP e-portal.
Approve projects after KAIMRC Research Committee approval before submitting them to KACST.
Act as the point of contact with the general secretariat, providing the latter with all the required and needed reports, data and information regarding the projects.
Develop science and technology plans, strategies, programs and projects for NGHA in accordance with the NSTIP priorities and approach.
Monitor the implementation of programs and projects, ensuring that their goals are met.
Ensure that researchers observe the copyrights and patents resulting from NSTIP funded projects.
Review and check periodic scientific and financial reports and submitted disbursement vouchers, checking all related observations.
Oversee that the budget is implemented according to the project terms.
Prepare financial forms and records related to the follow up of the projects work.
Record all financial transactions within the general secretariat's approved financial program.
Ensure compliance with the scientific integrity guidelines.
