Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, the CEO of National Guard Health Affairs and the President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for the Health Sciences, received last night Dr. Cosgrove the CEO of the American Cleveland Clinics. His Excellency held a large meeting with the delegation and a number of officials from National Guard Health Affairs and King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for the Health Sciences.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Al Knawy spoke in detail about the National Guard Health Affairs and what it contains of specialized and integrated medical cities and centers all over the Kingdom.

He also talked about King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for the Health Sciences and its colleges, departments and centers which rival those in Europe in the use of advanced teaching methods and techniques.

Introduced were a number of introductory presentations about the essential establishments within the Health Affairs Center. Prof. Youssef Abdullah Al Eissa, the Vice President of Educational Affairs and the Dean of College of Medicine in KSAU-HS gave a full presentation about the University and its colleges. Prof. Rashed Al Rashed the Vice President of Postgraduate Education in KSAU-HS also gave a presentation regarding training, higher education and academic affairs. Dr. Mohammad Al Jumah the Executive Director of King Abdullah International Medical Research Center gave a presentation about the Center and its vision and main objectives.

CEO of Health Informatics Dr. Majid Al Tuwaijri, the dean of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics, gave a presentation of the college, the services it provides for the students and the objectives it strives to meet.

After that, Dr. Al Knawy accompanied the guest and his companions on a tour that included the Intensive Care Unit, a recent and specialized center in the intensive care field which also includes an advanced burn care unit. He continued in explaining the recent advances and potentials of this unit.

At the pediatric ICU Dr. Cosgrove learned about the special services that this medical unit provides and the advanced medical equipment in use. Furthermore, he visited the Egyptian conjoined twins separated recently in KAMC. He also passed by the pediatric ward to visit the Iraqi conjoined twins Eyad and Ziyad who are undergoing treatment after being recently separated.  

 

Afterwards, the delegation went to King Abdulaziz Cardiac Center and the Hepatobiliary Sciences and Liver Transplant Center where the chairman of the KACC Dr. Muayed Al Zaibag and the chairman of the Liver Transplant Center Dr. Abdulmajeed Al Abdulkareem gave a visual presentation of the two centers and the human and medical potentials. The visitors concluded their tour expressing their admiration of what they saw in the NGHA.
