With the support of His Royal Highness Prince Abdullah Bin Bandar Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of National Guard, and His Excellency Dr. Bandar Al-Knawy, Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of National Guards Health Affairs; Prince Muhammad Bin Abdulaziz Hospital successfully conducted an implantable hearing aid surgery and restored the hearing of a patient suffering from deafness on Sunday, October 11th, 2020, which is a delicate surgery that is the first of its kind in the Medina region.
The surgery was conducted by a specialized medical team of the ENT unit led by Dr. Rayyan Al Hussainy, Surgery Department at PMBAH-MNGHA. The medical team was able to successfully implant the hearing aid piece inside the middle ear and attach it to the incus. Praise be to Allah, this procedure allowed the patient to hear voices which he wasn’t previously able to using the conventional hearing aid devices.
For his part, Dr. Turki Alwasaidi, Executive Director of Medical Services at PMBAH affirmed that health care services in the hospital are constantly developed and that our specialized staff is striving to utilize the latest approved international medical technologies to serve all patients.
