Infection Prevention and Control Department in king Abdulaziz Medical City – WR organized the educational and awareness rising campaign to celebrate the International Viral Hepatitis Awareness day with the logo “Participate knowledge ...Support Patients... Initiate Examination “
The Awareness Day included a professional training course entitled “Viral Hepatitis Update Course” targeting health care professionals from KAMC and other facilities. The course is accredited from Saudi council for health specialties with a number of CME Hours.
The course discussed several topics related to Viral Hepatitis such as:
Transmission & Prevention of Hepatitis
Why & How to Screen for Viral Hepatitis?
Viral Hepatitis in Children
Hepatitis B Virus Immunization in Adults

Educational and an Awareness-Rising Exhibition were held in the ACC area targeting the public to raise awareness about the disease, prevention, vaccines available and treatments. A rapid test for hepatitis C was available to screen the patients and visitors.
