Department of Infection Prevention and Control in Prince Mohammed Bin Abdul Aziz Hospital – AlMadinah organized the activities of International HIV Awareness Day 2017, with the participation of Pharmaceutical Care Services, Laboratory and Primary Health Care Center, in an effort to educate the community members and health care providers about AIDS, its prevention, infection methods and preventive measures in case of transmission risk to health care providers.
Moreover, the activities of this day included educational booths held at the entrance of ACC aimed at educating the hospital’s visitors and employees.
Also, Public Health Nurse/Hawazin Sheikh stressed the importance of educating the community members about AIDS, its transmission methods, how to prevent it as well the confidentiality of examination potential victims with sexual diseases. Last but not least, Infection Control Specialist/Basma Al-Jahni explained the importance of health practitioners’ role in carrying out infection control practices according to international standards to prevent transmitting all infectious diseases, including AIDS.
