The Department of Infection Prevention & control "Public Health Section" In cooperation with the Postgraduate Medical Education in King Saud University Health and Sciences- Jeddah, Military Field Medicine, and the Military Police, is organizing the HIV International Awareness Day Program starting from Tuesday 3rd of December to Monday the 9th of December 2019, the awareness-raising Program aims to reduce the spread of HIV by emphasizing the importance of screening and public education on the transmission of the disease, and to provide support for people living with HIV and improve their quality of life, the World AIDS Day will include awareness-based events, including educational programs, an informative course, a sports activity (marathon) and an educational awareness exhibition.
Tuesday, December 3, 2019, a sports educational activity at the Sports Complex
To educate about HIV with the participation of the Security Department and Military Medical Department, as well as an educational booth to raise awareness of the disease for attendance.
On Wednesday 4 December 2019 a medical exhibition is held at the Ambulatory Care centre
Contains educational activities that inform the patients, and visitors about how the disease is transmitted, support people affected by it and encourage them to screen and check. Several medical departments will participate in the exhibition in addition to the participation of students from King Saud Bin Abdul Aziz University for Health Sciences - Jeddah to support the International AIDS Awareness Day.
On Monday, December 9, 2019, a training course in Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Andijani Hall
The course discusses the latest developments in HIV for health-care providers and professionals, among other topics such as HIV epidemic, AIDS/HIV, Diagnosis of HIV infection, HIV drugs and their side effects, AIDS in children, HIV and pregnancy, voluntary counselling and Clinic Examination.
