H.E. Chief Executive Officer of Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy along with the Vice President of Postgraduate Education, Dr. Abdulmajeed Al Abdulkareem and a number of NGHA officials have attended the 15th Residency Day which was  hosted today, Thursday: March 19th, 2015 as an honoring celebration for resident physicians in their 15th day ceremony, at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences – Jeddah.

This honoring ceremony comes in recognition of these competencies that determines the level of health care provided in any medical center that seeks advancements and excellence while confirming that resident physicians are the primary engine of any health care facility.

Moreover, Dr. Amro Ageel, Surgery Resident and Head of the Organizing Committee, pointed out that the graduates have begun a new phase with spirit filled with optimism and hope while making maximum efforts to in patient care.

After that, Dr. Yasser Faden,  Gynecologist and Director of Medical Education in KSAU-HS, noted that the role of Postgraduate Education and academic affairs represented by Medical Education is reliant on attracting highly qualified male and female Saudi graduates to our training programs as well as  developing our trainees skillsets.

Dr. Mansour AlQurashi, Associate Dean of  Postgraduate Studies and Academic Affairs at KSAU-HS, Jeddah gave a speech in which he stated that 40 out of 44 resident physicians have passed the Saudi Board, which is equivalent to 94%. Besides, 19 subspecialty fellowship programs have been allocated to be pursued after the Saudi Board, as well as increasing the number of training programs to 27 programs under the supervision of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. In addition, he added that the Saudi Board success rate have reached 96% while a 100% success rate for the Fellowship programs.

Last but not least, H.E. Chief Executive Officer of Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy  delivered a speech in which he pointed out that that the Saudi National Guard represented by the Health Affairs is one of the leading sectors to embrace this development on all health and educational levels, providing means to achieve the ambition of our leadership through the establishment of specialized centers, conferences, workshops and courses and attracting international and local experts to participate in the construction, development and implementation of educational programs in various disciplines.​
