Dr. Walid Al Yafi, Executive Director of Medical Services & Prof. Tariq Khashoggi, Deputy Executive Director, Medical Services inaugurated the Awareness Campaign for the World Hypertension Day with the presence of Dr. Nawal Basri, Medical Director, Al Madinah Dialysis Center. The event lasted for two days where the first day activities were held at Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Hospital National Guard’s Health Affairs and the second day at the Primary Healthcare Center.
The event, organized by the Dialysis Center in cooperation with the Saudi Hypertension Management Society (SHMS),with the participation of the Departments of Nursing Education and Graduate Studies and Academic Affairs; aims to identify Blood Hypertension, raise awareness, causes of the disease, associated health risks and their impact on our daily lives and on the general health of society.
In light of the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs role in the preventive and curative programs within the Kingdom, SHMS society has considered launching the World’s Hypertension Society initiative in collaboration with Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Hospital and the Primary Healthcare Center of the National Guard Health Affairs in order to raise the awareness of the targeted groups regarding the risks of high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
The exhibition, which was held in the outpatient clinic’s lobby at the hospital and primary health care center, included several awareness booths that participated in providing services to male and female patients such as questionnaire booth, sphygmomanometers, glucose meters, body mass indicator booth, health awareness and medical consultations booth. The exhibition was well received by visitors. The exhibition also included providing brochures and handbooks, addressing the patient’s questions regarding hypertension and providing health advice to avoid blood pressure disease. Additionally, souvenirs were distributed among visitors.
