
The clinical performance department at the Ministry of National Guard-Health Affairs (MNG-HA) had organized a presentation on the “I Care” initiative that aims to provide highly coordinated medical care across MMG-HA. The presentation was led by Dr. Mohammad Alzahrani, executive director of medical services-WR and attended by chairmen of relevant clinical departments, consultants, and residents and fellows of different medical specialties. Dr. Joud Abduljawad, consultant in emergency medicine and chairman of clinical performance and Dr. Azah Althumairi, director of integrated care presented the “I Care” program that aim is to enhance the communication amongst all medical specialties in order to provide safe and highly coordinated care. This is done through enabling and empowering the nursing staff and the residents to communicate directly with the consultants and the medical services leadership. The presentation also included how to implement the “I Care” program in KAMC-WR and gave examples of successful stories how this program helped patients In KAMC-CR. The “I Care” program is regarded as an innovative and unique initiative led by His Excellency Dr. Bandar AlKnawy, CEO of MNG-HA and president of King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, who has the vision to develop the “I Care” program further to be rolled out for the rest of clinical departments in the coming months.
